What would Westminster be without McDaniel College? What would McDaniel be without the city of Westminster? Since the college was founded in 1867, the two have been eternally intertwined. Here at Bonjongles, we’re proud to be a part of the Westminster community, which also means being a part of the McDaniel community. We wanted to talk about the Westminster Welcome that occurred today, and what a great success we thought it was.
The Westminster Welcome
In what has become an annual tradition, today was the Westminster Welcome for new McDaniel students. Our shop, along with many other downtown Westminster businesses, had its doors wide open and we got to know a little bit about our new neighbors on the Hill. So many bright smiling faces, the splendor of youth shining in their eyes. If today was any indication, the future certainly is bright for McDaniels class of 2028.
A Variety of Personalities
Whether looking for a copy of Rush’s 2112, something by the fantastic Jim Croce, or a new book to get lost in, the McDaniel crowd certainly had a wide range of interests. What we were most happy to see were all of the students looking for books related to their fields of study. Music majors looking for books of sheet music, biology majors browsing in our science section, literature majors ogling our poetry books. We love seeing students so excited about learning!
Go Green Terror
A new school year at McDaniel brings with it a good deal of excitement, both on the Hill and in downtown Westminster, MD. As a community, we’re always happy to welcome new faces, and love seeing all of the returning ones. We can’t wait to get to know the 2028 Green Terror class even better over these next four years.
